Live at Millenium Park

26 02 2010

Last September we had the extreme pleasure of playing the Pritzker Pavilllion at Millenium Park in downtown Chicago.  It’s probably the most beautiful venue in Chicago and the best outdoor venue I’ve ever been to:  a lofty Frank Gehry-designed brushed aluminum structure with a fine-tuned sound system that ensures perfect sound all the way to the back of the lawn.  I’ve seen so many great (and FREE) shows there: Tortoise, Seun Kuti, Andrew Bird, Amadou & Miriam, Seu Jorge, NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me”, NOMO.  I even hopped some security barriers in order to propose to my wife there.  Needless to say, we were pretty excited when the offer came in to play there, even if it was on a Sunday at noon.   It was a perfect place to celebrate that week’s release of “Beat of Our Own Drum” in Europe (via Vampisoul).  We had a two-camera shoot going, but until we get around to editing the footage, here’s a little digi-cam shot of the title cut. – BT
