99 Shows Later

10 08 2010

Since the upcoming gig with Poi Dog Pondering at Ravinia (Friday August 27th!), will be our 100th show, in just 3 years, it seemed like a good time to look back on how it all started:

August 7, 2007, Subterranean, Chicago
An auspicious debut on a Tuesday night, opening for Childsize Monster Pistols and Scattered Maize.

We hadn’t met Kevin yet, that’s Ryan Juravic behind the drum kit. No suits, no horns, just tight white pants and some shaky dance steps.

The set

  1. Berry Please
  2. Alright
  3. Tighten Up
  4. Straight Lines
  5. Love One Another
  6. He Does the Town
  7. 75 Years of Art Sex
  8. Don’t Know Why
  9. Hold You Back
  10. Baltimore is the New Brooklyn

A lot of which showed up on our Live CD a few months later, in much tighter form.  Which you’ll be able to hear for yourself, since we’re repressing it in time for Ravinia.  Get it while it’s hot.
