Spring Thaw

13 02 2013

As foretold last fall, we’ve been laying low, worked up some new tunes, recorded them in Montreal, and now we’ve new album.  It’s called “Howl” and it’s coming out on Bloodshot in a few months (exact date: TBD).  But you heard it hear first.  And now we’re starting to play some shows again, in preparation for SXSW, followed by more touring, followed by world domination.  In the meantime, we’ve collected a few YouTube clips of some of the new songs:

First up, we’re heading up to Madison, WI this Friday for the first time since December 2011.  Gonna finally cross paths with Brooklyn’s Pimps of Joytime, who we’ve heard nothing but good things about.  It’s a Mardi Gras Funk Freakout and we couldn’t be happier to venture back inside the mighty Majestic Theater.  We had a hot show there with Kings Go Forth way way back in Januar 2011, the same day we taped “The 30 Minute Music Hour” for Wisconsin Public Television.

On Saturday Feb 16, we’re crash landing at The Hotel Foster in Milwaukee, for our first actual headlining club show in Beer City (we’ve been real real fortunate to open for Kings Go Forth, Maroon 5, Fitz & the Tantrums, Flogging Molly, and JJ Grey, and got to get in the park last summer).  Can’t wait.

Then we go to Austin for SXSW, followed by a quick run out to Colorado (ABQ, Ft Collins, Aspen, Denver, etc.), an East Coast run in April, Europe in May, Southern California in June, and on to summer festival season.  Stay tuned, all tour dates will be posted here, we’re going all over. In the meantime, read some astoundingly not true stories about Prince.
